I was so excited when I got that email confirming my date. I immediately smiled, remembering all those evenings watching Wheel as a family growing up. But my years as a veteran watcher could not prepare me for what it actually felt like to be in the studio and on that stage!!
I just knew that by watching the show and practicing, I'd be ready to go. But I didn’t take into account how much of a gamble it really is! If you guess one wrong letter, the puzzle may not get back around to you. If you spin one more time, you may go bankrupt or lose a turn. That element is hard to capture from the couch. Every single spin is a risk—there's a reward, but it’s definitely a risk!
Since I was doing a holiday show, I had it in my mind that there would be mostly holiday-themed puzzles. I was wrong! Focusing on holiday themes threw me way off on a couple of puzzles—especially since the very first one I guessed was a holiday theme! You all got me good.
I also could not have prepared for how quickly the time goes, and how much you replay every moment once you get home. I’m really looking forward to watching it in real time with 40 of my friends and family at our watch party on Monday! I reserved a room and will have Wheel of Fortune trivia during the commercials—and Wheel prizes too!
