When I think about it, there were many paths that led me to wanting to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune. As a teenager, my grandmother and I would watch Wheel of Fortune before she passed away. My mom watched Wheel of Fortune. My family and I watch Wheel of Fortune every night, and we go over to my in-laws' house once a week to watch Wheel of Fortune. Nearly every week, my father-in-law would encourage me to apply to be a contestant. Finally, one day, I did apply!
When I read the email stating that I was selected, I started saying, “Oh my gosh!” I was super nervous because I started thinking about things that could go wrong. It's different when we “play” Wheel of Fortune at home—because at home, we easily solve all of the puzzles. I began to doubt my abilities. I started thinking, soon I’ll be on stage trying to solve the puzzles… and I might not be successful… or I might be VERY successful.

The hardest part was doing my homework each day. I watched the show every night and “played” as if I were a contestant, and I also played the Wheel of Fortune app on my iPad. Both of those things helped me prepare for the show. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

Being on the show was such an amazing experience—it was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Vanna stopped by to wish us all good luck! The wardrobe and makeup people were super kind. I'm glad we got a tour of the set and had a chance to practice spinning the Wheel.

The most helpful advice I can give people is this: if you’re afraid of the process of being a contestant, don’t be afraid. If you don’t do it, you’ll regret it—and you’ll always wonder if you would’ve been a successful contestant. So instead of wondering, just take a leap and apply!!!!

My only regret is that I wish I would've applied sooner.
It was AMAZING!!!
