How did you come to be a contestant on Wheel?
I have been watching Wheel since I was a kid. I remember when people would have to buy things with the money. There was a ceramic dog people bought for $250! We all watch it together as a family now. Sometimes I solve so quickly, they get so mad at me and then other times, they all solve and I have no idea what it is!!
How did being on the show compare to watching it at home?
Being on the show is SO MUCH EASIER than watching at home….. YEAH RIGHT! (LOL). Obviously, at home, there is no risk or reward, so you can just relax and shout stuff out as it becomes clear. When on the show, there is SO MUCH you must do and remember, all at the same time, while trying to solve quickly. But the experiences is so much fun!! I seriously loved every second if it, and not like watching even more form home, and being part of the “behind the scenes.”
What was it like meeting Pat and Vanna?
Vanna came out to meet us before taping the show. She couldn’t have been more sweet and adorable! It was pre-hair/makeup for her, and she could have very easily slipped by, incognito, but instead came right over and couldn’t have been any kinder. Pat is such a doll! He is so sweet and funny and is the same when the camera is on or off. Such a cool guy! After the second Toss-Up, he turned to us and said, “That was the hard part. Now just sit back and let’s have some fun!”
What was the highlight of your episode?
I honestly loved every single aspect of the experience, from the audition to the actual playing of the game. However, if I had to pick one favorite thing, I think it would be the fact that I got to play on Teacher’s Week. I met amazing teachers and people, from all around the country. I feel like we al bonded in the little bit of time that we got to spend with each other. It was so great to see all of us rooting for each other! Everyone was so supportive of everyone, and the vibe was fantastically positive!
What's something Wheel fans should know about you that they won't get to hear in your contestant interview?
I am totally outnumbered in my house with a husband, 3 teenage boys and 2 male dogs. Testosterone overload! I am a New York Yankees fan and New York Giants an. I love spending my Summers relaxing by ANY body of water, so don’t be surprised if you have a pool and see me sitting by it, uninvited! I have an amazing family and set of friends that I would be lost without. Lastly, although I am not that young anymore, I like to live my life like I am. Life isn’t a dress rehearsal, and if there is an opportunity for fun, laughs and adventure, I will say yes, for as long as I can!
