My journey to Wheel of Fortune started back in October of 2017 when the Wheelmobile came close enough for me to try out. I have enjoyed watching the show since I was a kid, and decided to take the leap and give it a shot. To my surprise, I made it through the first 2 auditions, and was shocked to receive the letter in the mail stating that I was chosen to be a contestant. Once I got notified with a tape date, it was quite the whirlwind making all the arrangements and getting out there with my husband and children. Once there, everyone worked so hard to make it such a positive and fun experience. Pat and Vanna were very nice, Vanna even made a point to stop in by us in the morning to introduce herself and make us feel at ease. I started strong, landed on the Alaska wedge and ended up solving the first big puzzle. Then, I was going to town on another one, really on a roll, filling in all but 2 letters... and blanked. You never think it will happen to you- on a prize puzzle no less. Oh well, the contestant next to me was able to scoop it up and get a beautiful trip to the Dominican Republic. I was able to redeem myself in the end and made it to the bonus round which turned out to be pretty exciting. Time was ticking away, and just as it was almost out, the words Moving Boxes came out of my mouth. I don't even know really how it happened, but Pat stopped my celebration by telling me they didn't know if I beat the buzzer. The next 10 minutes or so were pretty intense with everybody scurrying around, but finally it was time to find out. I beat it! This has been such an unforgettable and lovely experience, and I am so glad I made the decision to go that first night.
