Charlie O'Donnell
Audiences have come to know the distinctive voice of Charlie O'Donnell, who has served as the announcer of Wheel of Fortune for nearly every season since the show's debut in 1975. From 1982-1988, Jack Clark briefly served in the capacity. O'Donnell returned in 1989 and continues to serve as the voice of Wheel of Fortune.
"I am very lucky that I have had such a wonderful home base at Wheel of Fortune," says O'Donnell. "Throughout my 40 plus years working as an announcer, I have had the honor to have worked with some of the leading entertainers in the world."
O'Donnell has been the voice of some of the most prestigious events in entertainment, including the Academy Awards™, the Golden Globe Awards, The American Music Awards, and the Emmy™ Awards. Additional highlights of his career include serving as the announcer for The Beatles when they appeared at the Hollywood Bowl and Dodger Stadium in 1965, 1966, and 1967; announcing for The Rolling Stones when they appeared at the Long Beach Auditorium in 1965; and announcing Dick Clark's "American Bandstand" from 1958-1968.
O'Donnell's credits also include: "The Dating Game," "Everybody's Talking," "The Gong Show," "The Guinness Game," "Hot Potato," "The Joker's Wild," "Let's Go Back," "Monopoly," "The Newlywed Game," "The Parent Game," "Stompers," "Tic Tac Dough," " To Tell The Truth," "Trivia Trap," "Wedding Party," "The Wizard of Odds," and "Wordplay."
O'Donnell, the father of four children, resides in Los Angeles with his wife Ellen.
