WHEEL OF FORTUNE AND HOST PAT SAJAK HONORED AT 38th ANNUAL DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has awarded “Wheel of Fortune,” America’s #1 game show, with a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show in a tie with “Jeopardy!.” “Wheel of Fortune” host, Pat Sajak was also honored with the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards Lifetime Achievement Award. The ceremony was broadcast live from Las Vegas on June 19 on the CBS Television Network.
This marks “Wheel of Fortune’s” 1st win for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show. Sajak, who joined the series in 1981, when the show aired on network daytime television and has continued at the helm since its transition into syndication in 1983, has been honored with three Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Game Show Host.
