Meet Sheldon
- In the early days of Wheel of Fortune, contestants shopped for prizes with their winnings. One of the most unique and memorable was the Ceramic Dalmatian, Sheldon.
- Sheldon became very popular over time. In fact, contestants who shopped at the end of each round often "bought" Sheldon with their winnings before they "bought" the more expensive prizes!
- "For $154, I'll take the Ceramic Dalmatian" became a popular catchphrase on Wheel of Fortune.
- Sheldon was also well-liked by viewers. Many wrote to the show and asked how they could purchase him.
- The staff named Sheldon in honor of the man who ran the kennel where Sheldon was born.
- Sheldon, now retired, is the official mascot of Wheel of Fortune.
