Here's what I can tell you about being a Wheel of Fortune contestant:

    1. The wheel really is as heavy as it looks- maybe heavier.

    2. Pat and Vanna are as nice as I always thought they seemed.

    3. It's hard to see the other contestants as your competition when you've spent an entire day joking around with them at the studio.

    4. I honestly couldn't tell you everything that happened when I taped my episode. It is a complete...

I have always been an avid wheel watcher from the time of its debut about thirty years or so, I remember watching during the years when cash was won there would be prizes in the studio to choose from and the balance would be placed on a gift certificate. One of my favorite hobbies is solving puzzles and unscrambling jumbles so when the game show came to television it was a natural that I would be a fan.

In April of 2013, I received...

I moved to the Baltimore, MD when I was 6-years-old. I started watching the Wheel of Fortune around age 8. The normal routine would be: come home from school, eat dinner and meet my family in the living room to watch Wheel. My parents and I used to compete to see who could solve the puzzles first, the loser had to do the dishes. ;) The older I got, it seemed the better I played, plus I didn’t have to do dishes so much!

I have been a Wheel of Fortune fan since BP&V (before Pat and Vanna), all the way back to the original version hosted by Chuck Woolery.  My family and I were living in Southern California when Pat and Vanna became the host and hostess ... and I remember watching Pat do the weather on a local news broadcast before he moved to Wheel.

We moved to Marin County, north of San Francisco, in 1985.  One day in the late 80's or early 90's, I was coming down the...

My wife and son and I watch Wheel of Fortune every night.  It has been an integral part of my child’s upbringing, as it has helped him with his spelling and pronunciation of certain words and phrases.  Ever since he was diagnosed with Autism at 2 ½ years old, we have used any and all tools at our disposal to help him learn to speak and write.  Wheel of Fortune has really been a fun way for him to learn without it feeling like he was at...

My goals after moving to California were:

1.) Become a contestant on the Wheel of Fortune.

2.) Actually, that was about it.

I applied online and was asked to submit a video, which I did after about the 50th take. I was then called in to audition and found out two weeks and one day later that I had been chosen as a contestant.

From that day forward, I ate, drank, and slept Wheel of Fortune. My DVR recorded the show...

My Wheel of Fortune experience – and was it ever an experience – began in September 2013.  Never in a million years would I believe that I could be a part of the world’s most famous game show, but luckily, my wife Kimberly was not intimidated by the odds.  She insisted that we attend an upcoming Wheelmobile event in nearby Concho, Oklahoma on September 21, overruling my now foolish plea to stay home and watch football!

    Not expecting much more...

I am an avid SPIN ID checker, and as such receive regular emails from Wheel of Fortune and Sony. I saw that WOF was looking for “the face of the fan” in Chicago, and was looking for one minute audition videos. Being on WOF falls under the category of “dreams that will never come true if you don’t do something about it.” So, I immediately recruited my husband to videotape, and got to work putting together my case as to why I should be selected for...

I have been a “wheel watcher” for as long as I can remember…and it has always been a dream of mine to be on the show!  In May of last year I spotted a story on my local newspapers website that said the Wheelmobile would be at a local mini-mall!  I was elated, and determined to get to that event!

It was so exciting to see “THE” Wheelmobile in person…and I couldn’t wait...

I have always wanted to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune.  I remember watching the show every night with my family throughout my entire childhood.  Even in college, I watched it (whenever I had the time) with my roommates.  It was always a dream of mine to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune.

After signing up to be on Wheel of Fortune’s email list, I was on my way.  A year or two passed with none of the emails inviting me to audition. ...
